Hello Friends! The Federal Ministry of Health in Mexico published on May 14th and 15th, a revised extraordinary decree along with a strategy for the reopening of “non-essential” activities. These activities can begin on June 1st, BUT reopening will be based on a color-coded scale system. The Ministry is publishing on a WEEKLY basis, a map with epidemiological risks associated to the reopening of activities in each state and has classified each region into 4 color codes: red; orange; yellow; or green. The color code red represents the maximum alert where only a very limited number of essential industries are permitted to open observing applicable restrictions and measures. Unfortunately, as of today, 4 of the 5 counties in the State of Baja California Sur including Los Cabos are marked in "red”, even though, there is only 76 active cases in Los Cabos and 206 active cases in our Baja Sur state and since we are only 800,000 people, the per capita number should be lower. While we have been working on getting everything ready to re-open Cabo Surf Hotel and 7 Seas restaurant with the applicable sanitary and health protocols, until they change the color of the Baja Sur state in the map the days to come, as of today, we cannot assure we will be allowed to reopen on June 15th. We will, however, continue monitoring our region´s color-coded classification, as well as any information that our State Government may dictate for when the hotel/restaurant facilities can reopen and we will publish on our website and social media. In a nutshell, we are keeping our fingers cross to reopen June 15th, but we cannot guarantee that as of today.
